If you want to make more money the number one most important skill is: Your ability to SELL. This is critical and I would never change that.

But I am going to talk about the other side of that which most people ignore. This other area of business might elude you just a little bit.

Are you keeping track of your finances in an organized way? Do you know where all of your money is going? Ask yourself this question:

If the universe or the business world give you a certain amount of money and you are not a good steward and you don’t take care of that money, why would you get more money?

Check out this video to learn a couple of tips on how to better manage your finances and put money back into your pocket

One of the most important things you can do is keep this concept in your mind:
If you want to buy something you should start by selling something.

Now this is probably the best way I can give you advice for going forward in your business. I want to make sure that you know, if you want to make more money the number one most important skill is:

Your ability to SELL.
This is critical and I would never change that.

But I am going to talk about the other side of that which most people ignore. This other area of business might elude you just a little bit.

I will give you an example:

I was on the phone with a client and he had a season in his business where he started to have a slump after years of having great success. He had a slump and we were trying to look at what we could do to turn it around. We realized he wasn’t tightly managing his finances as well as he could. We started scrutinizing his finances and we found one, two, three, four problems that were repeating over and over again and were going to cost him thousands and thousands of dollars.

So let me ask you this:

If the universe or the business world gives you a certain amount of money and you are not a good steward and you don’t take care of that money, why would you get more money?

This is the same thing I asked him on that call. I said,

“If you don’t do well with the money that has been given to you, why would anybody give you anymore?”

It was one of those moments for him where he said,

“Wow! I didn’t realize that I need to take better care and be a better steward with the money I have been given so that way I can accelerate my growth curve.”

So here are some tips for you if you fall in that camp where sometimes you don’t manage your numbers as tightly as you could.

#1. Print out your profit and loss statement or at the very least, a bank statement.

You can look at all of your purchases and say,

“What am I purchasing, especially reoccurring payments, that I can do without?”

If there are some you can do without, take them off the list, cancel them.

#2. Find the things on that list you are unsure of their Return on Investment.

You are not sure if you are really making money from it, those should be the next ones on the chopping block.

#3. Look at all of the existing relationships you have with any vendors, partners, software, tools and resources that you are paying for out of pocket.

Especially technology, because what can happen is you can actually have technology that you are overpaying for. There might be a new system out that is cheaper, or can get you a better return for the same amount of money. So look at all those resources. Re-shop. Go shop your insurance again and see if you can get a better policy for the same amount of money that you are already paying.

That should put tens or thousands or hundreds of thousands back in your pocket over the course of a year depending on the size of your business.

In the comment section, tell me how much money you were able to find that is going to increase your income by getting rid of those payments that were not benefiting you or your business:
